パート３のパターンを細かく見ていきましょう！

「先読みが大事」ということがよく理解できたら、いよいよ内容に入っていきますね。

ざっくり３つのパターンを紹介していきますよ。

細かい情報パターン 

ということで、こういう問題では情報がたくさんあるため、よく聴き分けることが大事です。

例題を見てみましょう！

Q１: Who attended the meeting?

• Becky
• Jane
• Mr. Wilcox
• Ms. Jones

A: How was the meeting yesterday, Becky?

B: Actually I didn’t go because I had to pick up Mr. Wilcox at the airport. Ms. Jones represented our department.

A: Really? Does Jane know that? She was curious if our proposal was accepted.

大まかな情報パターン

こういう問題では、会話全体から判断することが大事です。

Q２: Where does this conversation take place?

• At a supermarket
• At a bank
• At a restaurant
• At a theatre

     A: Would you like more coffee? 

     B: No, I’m finished. I’d like the cheque, please. 

     A: Here you go. Please pay the cashier at the front. 

分析必要パターン

こういう問題では会話から得られる情報をもとに答えを出すことが求められます。

Q: When will the shipment arrive?

• Tomorrow 
• In two days
• In four days
• In a week 

A: How long will it take for the delivery to arrive? 

B: That depends on which shipping option you choose. Regular shipping will take four to six business days. For an extra ten dollars, you can have it delivered via overnight shipping.

A: Oh, let’s use overnight. I need this printer as soon as possible!

答え合わせ

Q1：Ms. Jones
誰が出席した？という問いに、Ms.Jonesが私たちの部署を代表した、というふうに言い換えが使われています。

Q2：At a restaurant
はっきり何処！とは言っていませんがコーヒー、お勘定、レジなどの単語から、想像できます。

Q3：Tomorrow
郵便局での会話っぽいですね。追加料金を払えばオーバーナイト配達（即日配達）が使える、と言われ、オーバーナイトで！と答えています。ただ、選択肢では「いつ到着」の答えとして「明日」と言い換えられています。
