1. must have + 過去分詞（〜に違いない）

He must have been very tired last night.

👉 ポイント

must have + p.p. → 過去の出来事についての「強い推測（〜に違いない）」
cannot have + p.p. → 過去の出来事についての「強い否定（〜のはずがない）」

（＝過去の出来事について「〜に違いない」）

He must have left his bag on the train.
→ 彼は電車にカバンを置き忘れたに違いない。
She must have worked very hard yesterday.
→ 彼女は昨日とても一生懸命働いたに違いない。
They must have been at the party last night.
→ 彼らは昨夜パーティーにいたに違いない。

👉 「must have + p.p.」は強い推測。話し手が「ほぼ確信している」ときに使う。

→ 彼女が以前に彼と会ったはずがない。

👉 「cannot have + p.p.」は強い否定。話し手が「あり得ない」と考えているときに使う。

👉 強い否定「〜のはずがない」

Dialogue 4: 仕事の進み具合

A: The team finished the project in just two days.
B: Really? They cannot have done all that work so quickly.
