はじめに
650〜700帯で差がつくのは「語法の即断」。
空所前後2語の合図で“句か節か”“論理関係は何か”を5〜8秒で決めます。今日は頻出の対セットを、判定ルール→例題→ドリルまで一気に固めます。
1) 5秒判定フレーム（まずはこれだけ）
- 句か節か？
空所直後がS+V→接続詞（because/although/while/if）／名詞句→前置詞（because of/despite/during/due to） - 文と文をつなぐ？（ピリオド/セミコロン＋大文字」
→接続副詞（however/therefore/meanwhile/otherwise） - 論理は？ 逆接・因果・時間
逆接＝however/although/despite
因果＝because/therefore/due to
時間＝while（“間”）/during（名詞期間）
2) 対セットの即断ルール＋ミニ例
A) because vs because of（因果）
- S+Vならbecause／名詞ならbecause of
例) We canceled the event because it rained.／… because of the rain.
B) although vs despite/in spite of（逆接）
- S+Vならalthough／名詞ならdespite/in spite of（of必須）
例) Although sales fell, …／Despite the drop, …
C) while vs during（時間/対比）
- S+Vならwhile（…している間に／一方で）／名詞ならduring（期間）
例) while we waited／during the meeting
D) however vs therefore vs so（文と文の論理）
- 文頭/セミコロン後＋カンマで使うのがhowever/therefore（接続副詞）
- soは等位接続詞：同一文内で“…, so S+V.”
例) …; however, S+V.／…; therefore, S+V.／S, so S.
E) due to vs owing to（原因・理由）
- どちらも前置詞＝名詞を取る。フォーマルはdue to寄り。that節は不可。
例) The delay was due to weather.（that it rained ×）
F) even though vs even if（事実 vs 仮定）
- 事実に反しても＝even though（現実）／仮定・条件＝even if（もし〜なら）
例) Even though it’s late, …／Even if it rains, …
G) as（理由/時間/様態：曖昧）
- 明確さ優先の出題ではbecause/whenへ寄りやすい。曖昧なら避ける。
3) 例題スプリント（各5〜8秒）

4) 迷わない微差の見抜き方
- 名詞の前の“of”が見える？ → because of / in spite of / due to
- 直後が冠詞・所有格？ → 前置詞（during/despite/due to）
- “; ,”のセットがある？ → 接続副詞（however/therefore/meanwhile）
- 逆接か因果かを1語で要約してから選ぶ（but/so要約）
5) 10分ドリル（毎日OK）
- 分2 合図コール（S+V→接続詞／名→前置詞／“; ,”→接続副詞）
- 分5 例題10問スプリント（上の対セットを均等に）
- 分2 タグ付け（逆接/因果/時間/接続副詞/句or節）
- 分1 音読コントラスト

While we waited／During the meeting - 分0.5 KPI記録（正答/10・平均秒数）
- 分0.5 明日の重点を1つ（最多タグ）決定
6) よくあるミスと修正
- howeverを文中で連結 → 文頭（; however,）に限定、同一文内はbut
- despite ofと書く → ofは不要（in spite ofは必要）
- whileを“対比”で使うときに名詞を取らせる → whileはS+V必須
- asを乱用 → 明確さ重視でbecause/whenに置換
7) 図表・Part6での使い分け（文挿入にも効く）
- 逆接：前後の極性語（rise/fall, good/bad）を線で対比→although/despite/however
- 因果：原因→結果（because/due to→therefore/so）を並べ替え
- 時系列：previously/then/now＋during/whileで時間軸を整える
8) KPI（数値で前進を可視化）
- 語法対セット正答：10問中 7→9以上
- 平均解答秒数：8→5–6秒
- 誤りタグ（句/節/接続副詞）の再発：週2→0〜1
9) 今日のチェックリスト
- 空所直後がS+Vか名かを最初に判定したか？
- 逆接/因果/時間のどれかを1語で言えたか？
- “; + however/therefore, ”の形を確認したか？
- ofの有無（because of/in spite of）を見落としていないか？
- 5〜8秒で決め切れたか？
10) 宿題（5〜10分）
- 対セットで各2文を自作→音読（because/because of、while/during、although/despite）
- 本番形式10問を解き、各問に“根拠1語”をメモ（S+V／名／;）
- 明日、同レベル10問で平均秒数を再計測（KPI更新）
まとめ
語法は「句か節か／論理は何か／文と文か」を見るだけで即断できます。because系・while系・however系の対セットを5秒で仕分け、コントラスト音読で定着。Part5だけでなくPart6の文挿入・Part7の論理読みまで効いてきます。
